Limescale & formula

Hi

I am shortly going to be switching to formula, i use a carton a day at the moment just for one night feed.

My question is that our water in this area is so hard. Our kettle gets clogged with limescale often. We have a one cup type machine and you can see large flakes of limescale when the water is boiled.

Obviously I dont want this going in a bottle.

Does anyone else have this issue?

I might just use cartons full stop

Buy a brita filter kettle, makes tea taste so much nicer, so it will probably do so for formula too

Yes I thought of it too Principessa but you are not meant to use filtered water to make bottles. I don't know why. You can use Evian though. I just had a limescaled kettle for a while....

You can't use artificially softened water which uses salt. I live in Suffolk and we have some of the hardest water in the country.

We also used to have a one cup water heater. I made DH go and buy a cheap kettle which I descale every month.
