sterilising beakers

Anyone using Milton for sterilising beakers? Any tips / comments?

Also has anyone used a Philips Avent 24 hour electric steam steriliser for sterilising Tommee Tippee beakers? Just bought the beakers and worried they'll melt!

I'm sure they'll be fine in the steam steriliser. But you don't have to sterilise once baby is 6 months. Hot soapy wash will be fine.

What no sterilisation even for containers that hold milk?

I just checked the pack of milton and it says no need to rinse - but the idea of leaving all that chemical stuff on the beaker and then letting my baby drink from the beaker ... well I don't know....

I didn't sterilise anything after dd was 6mo, I figured that as she was stuffing things in her mouth left right and centre there wasn't any point.

Yes a hot wash or the diswasher which effectivly steriliser's anyway as it steams the dishies dry.

The main risk in not sterilising is if there is any milk left on the bottle/teat/cup. But a good wash will remove this. I usealy put anything that's had milk in it in the diswaher just to be safe.
