What milk banking slogans would you like on baby tees/cloth bags etc?

Ahhh, milk banking again

I'm researching products to sell on the shiny new UKAMB website which is being developed by the oh-so-lovely MN volunteer threefeethighandrising

I'm thinking about baby (and maybe mum?) tees, cloth bags, stickers or fridge magnets, promoting milk banking but with amusing slogans, along the lines of, say, the Lactivist style.

What would you like to see? What would you buy? What slogans would be attractive to you?

Please not the one about formula fed babies being suckers. I think it upsets people unnecessarily (it makes me rage and want to sit the person down who thought it up and bore the arse off them with our BFing history in minute detail until they wish they'd never done it).

More likely to buy a cloth bag than a T-shirt unless the T-shirt is genuinely amusing and not smug-sounding.

Agree with Mollcat that some of those slogans are a bit smug and I tend not to buy things with slogans on them anyway.

I think it's gonna be hard to come up with something amusing that is related to milk banking tbh. I was trying to come up with a few ideas on the school run this afternoon and didn't get very far (but them I'm not a marketing person), but these were my initial thoughts....

• Express your love
• something along the lines of a milkman and leaving a note out for one extra pint. (obv needs further exploration)
• trying to link the idea of banking (in the financial sense)with donated milk being like gold ?

Personally I like the Every Drop Counts slogan that they use already.

One other thing that I might buy is an insulated mug - they are always good for bfing mothers and make good presents.

Bank what's not drank?! (!!) ha.
Unused milk.....precious like silk?!
Mother natures nectar...donate to milk collector?!
Milk left in the booby tank.....bring to the bank?!
Clearly not very good at this....but some ideas. Good luck.

Ps I don't think I'd wear a tshirt with any of my suggestions on by the way!! Ha.

I do agree about the formula-suckers one, completely. I hate it and it really undermines BFing promotion. I have a few Lactivist tees for DS but things like the baby care one which I really like.

I wasn't wanting anything controversial so maybe Lactivist was a bad example. But I do want something that will get people thinking "oh - milk banking - never thought of that".

I was thinking of a baby tee that was sort of a "I share my mummy's milk to save premature babies" somehow condensed into 3 words .

Would anyone consider buying a tee with the milk banking logo on (Every Drop Counts?). Seems a bit dull TBH. What if we worked with a supplier of nursing tops. If you were in the market for a nursing top, would you buy one that donated some money to UKAMB over another type, or would it entirely be down to style/price?

Or would cloth bags just be a better idea? Maybe with the Every Drop Counts logo on one side and something banal like "I Support Breastmilk Banking" or maybe more specific like "Donor Breastmilk Saves Babies' Lives".

I'd want (personally) cloth bags to be fairtrade and organic. Am I in the minority here?

Another question - how much would you pay for a cloth bag?

I would buy a nursing top with a slogan, and which gave to UKAMB. If I was buying a cloth bag I'd want it to be fairtrade and organic, but tbh, I'd probably not buy one, as I've at least six kicking around the house which I've been given (and which never seem to be in my handbag when I need them)

cloth bag- fair trade and organic appeal but not a requirement

Would not be caught dead in a slogan anything clothing wise as an adult.

Never bought BF specific clothes, except for front opening nighties, so would be happy if there was a built-in donation on the cost of one of those.

I quite like most of those slogans you've linked to, but am not too keen on the breast intentions one.

I had a look at the Tommy's website and they have some good fundraising ideas. I thought the one about getting a company to become the charity's sponsor for a year was a good one. It's here.

Re. UKAMB membership, I guess I would expect a quarterly newsletter, probably a printed one. Not sure what would go in it though- latest news, some specialist articles, some human interest stuff- perhaps an interview with a milk recipient?
