Is anyone on here from the Derby area and know of a good kids gastro expert? Seen mentions of specialists at gosh but was wondering if there are any closer?
Thanks in advance for any help/advice.

My daughter see's a couple of gastro specialists at the Sheffield Children's hospital - what area of specialism within gastro were you after?

Thank u for the reply. My ds has been diagnosed with colic and acid reflux....needs stronger/different medication docs only given gaviscon which is not really working. Have been referred to specialist but they said it could take 6 weeks to get an app. Would like my baby to be a little happier before then really. Sad

Will your GP not give you anything else for him? Maybe see another GP?

She said that was all they could give without a specialist opinion?! I don't know what to do next?

A friend of mine was given rantidine (might not have spelled that right) for her baby after infant gaviscon didn't work. I think there's another one that starts with O you can try too - maybe ask on the reflux support thread?

Professor Choonara and the Children's hospital is a very good bloke if he's still there. He is a paediatrician and he knows his stuff.
