Bottles for BF babies - any recommendations?

Am expecting DC2 (probably a DD) in a few weeks time. I BF DS for 2 years (my milk dried up at about 3 months pg otherwise I'm sure we would still be going) and intend to BF the new one.

I used to express for DS so I could go out for the odd evening out or if I had to be away for more than an hour or 2 just in case. Used Breastflow bottles for him which he got along fine with - no problem switching between bottle and boob. I only had a couple and they are quite tatty and worn now and I think should be retired.

Anyway I was wondering whether to just stick to the Breastflow ones or change over - the Breastflow ones have a kind of dual teat thingy which meant DS had to work pretty hard to get the milk out - designed to be similar to BFing and so slow the flow of milk IYSWIM. But they are a bit fiddly to the uninitiated (i.e. DM and MIL) and can tend to leak a bit.

So I wondered what other types of bottles that BFers have used for fairly sporadic use and got on well with?

I bf dd2 and used these I never had any problems.

I used to express for whenever I went out (too shy to feed in front of people) she was fine and never made any fuss.

I think the key is to introduce bottles very early on with expressed milk. Good luck.

same as mama2moo. Unless your baby has problems latching on, there's no need for the expensive ones. DS has one tomee tipee closer to nature one, but the rest are standard phillips advent teets and he goes fine from bottle to boob!

I agree about introducing bottles early on, DS had one at 2 weeks

I recommend the same at mama2moo and hiss42.

At first we bought Medala Calma Solitaire, which cost almost £12 for each teat! They were absolutely rubbish. DD found it very difficult to latch on to the Medela teat. Also, they leaked far too much of my precious EBM.

We started off just using the normal Avent ones which she was fine with. Then I got complacent and she didn't have a bottle for a couple of months, when I next tried her with one she refused completely . I experimented with several different ones and she took to the NUK one with a latex teat best. Incidentally I have two Breastflow ones that never even made it out the box lurking at the back of my cupboard if you'd like them, send me a PM if so

We used philips avent without problems, also tried the MAM anti-colic ones which are fine but I found they leaked a little around the bottom when put in warm water to warm the milk up.
