Milk blister advice please

I think I've developed a milk blister. Thought it was just a blocked duct at first but my nipple feels like it's been bitten and I can see a small white spot. Feeding/expressing doesn't seem to be shifting it and the area behind the blockage is getting more and more tender.

I'm worried my boob is going to explode! More realistically I'm concerned about another bout of mastitis, which I had last week in the other breast. I'm off for a hot bath soon; is there anything else I can do?

Thanks both. It really feels like one thing after another at the moment - as I said I had mastitis (luckily taken care of quickly by antibiotics) the other week and now this. :( Not totally sure yet but I think this looks like it's going the same way as the familiar flueyness is creeping back.

Ah, it's all for the greater good really as it means that ds is finally cutting down on his seemingly endless appetite for milk! He's just such a dramatically happier baby than he used to be and the answer to any and every upset is no longer the boob. :) He's 10 months btw.

Definately worth aggressively fighting the milk blister and blockage - you may be able to avoid the antibiotics.

Yes I know. I hated taking the first course but two in quick succession would be crap. I've dug the Epsom salts out the cupboard! Ta again.

I had this, awful. A Mnetter suggested poking it with a steralised needle which I did and then I managed to express seven ounces, normally I'd get two! My medela bottle runneth over! I never had leaky boobs before then but after my home piercing it leaked when boobs were full/ feeding from the other side. Stopped leaking after about three months.
