The urge to bf other babies

Bear with me, this is a bit weird, but does anyone else feel like this?

I was at the supermarket the other day and heard a baby crying...breasts produced milk immediately and I had this mad urge to seek out the baby and feed it (don't worry I didn't terrify any poor mums by snatching their babies and force feeding them, I just carried on with my shopping). Then at the weekend I was bfing next to a lady with a baby I had just met, her baby started crying and I had the same reaction while she went to get a bottle (this is not a disparaging comment regarding ff, she can feed her baby whatever she likes, it was just odd that my breasts seemed desperate to get the other baby to latch on as well as DD).

I assume it's some kind of hormonal reaction to the crying but it is weird. Please tell me other people experience it as well!

I'm not allowed to donate :( it's a shame cos I'd feed an army of babies!

I am hoping to donate this time if I can.

I find it complete;y normal tbh. When DD was very small my niece tried to push her out of the way. While my sister was apologising, my instinct was to tandem feed...... I would have if it had been the three of us and I still would.

My friend offered to look after DD for me and I couldn't understand why she would bottle feed mine while BFing hers, when I would just BF them both.....

Interesting thread OP, but no. In my case I couldn't feel when I had letdown. I leaked, but there was no tingling, pain or anything TBH and I never had any leakage when another baby cried nor any urge to feed either. I am normal, honestly Grin.

I still do get that urge when I hear a crying baby, and so does my sis. I stopped BF my 3 year old 6 months ago, and that instinct has not yet gone away, so you are not alone
