and I am feeling a bit sorry for myself. She is 20 months old and for the last couple of days has simply refused to have her usual naptime/bedtime feeds. She just pulls my top back down and says 'No'. I know it's probably best that she has decided to stop herself but I feel kinda sad, as I know she is my last and that is that now. BTW, will my boobs hurt or as she has not been taking much will I escape?

DS is also 20mo and self-weaned at just under 17m - think my milk had changed taste as I was pg again.

I didn't have any engorgement problems - I don't think he'd been getting that much (he was only having one quick feed in the morning from one side by the time he finished - the other side had already started producing colostrum!).

It is - I knew I'd be doing it again in a few short months, so that tempered it somewhat, but I don't know how I'll feel when this one stops as I'm pretty sure I never want to be pregnant again!

Well done for feeding for 20m IMO (and IM limited E) self-weaning is the way forward with bfeeding

Thanks for your support. I am definitely feeling , perhaps buying some nice bras instead of the hideous massive feeding bras will cheer me up

Well done for feeding for 20mths! As far as I remember I got no engorgement when weanind ds1 and ds2, they were feeding very little by then in any case, 11mths and 13 mths respectively. I think at that stage, you produce milk more in response to suckling i.e, they get it if they demand it but you don't produce as much in between.

Phew, that's good to know. Wasn't looking forward to sore boobs!!
