Please help, I am desperate. My wee man is 18 days old and wont breastfeed. The problem is that he keeps his tounge up when I try to feed him-I am exclusively expressing now and exhausted.I have to mention that he has the same problem with the bottle but its easier to aim with the bottle than a nipple. Please help-nobody seems to know what to do-he doesnt have a tounge tie-checked by 3 doctors.thanks

Have you been able to see any breastfeeding counsellors or the infant feeding specialist at your hospital at all?

you really need to see a breastfeeding counsellor in real life.

what area are you in? perhaps someone could recommend one to you?

My little girl did this and I ended up ff her Sad Just wanted you to know that some other babies do this too. I didn't push for bf and went for easier route! Hope you get the help you need!

It could be a tongue tie or some other issue with a disordered tongue, doctors often do get it wrong on that score sadly.

Just wanted to say that you're not alone in painful feeds and with the right help it should get better. Good luck.

Yes Mollcat. I now know that she has tongue tie- diagnosed by me!!! Lol
