Stage 3 formula

DD is 7 months old, she was mainly BF for the first 6 months, and she's now exclusively FF.

Weaning is not going well (but that's a separate issue), so I'm a bit concerned about she not getting all the nutrients from the formula; HV told me on weaning class to use only stage 1 formula while weaning, but since she's not taking any other food would it be worth stage 3 milk?

and/or anyone knows what's the advantage of stage 3 formula?

No, everything I have read from the NHS on bottle feeding / weaning says to stick with stage 1 formula until they are 1 and then you can switch to cow's milk as a drink. It states that 'follow on milks are neither recommended or needed'.

Your baby has only just started weaning, so she'll be getting most of her nutrients from milk for a while yet anyway as she gets to grips with food. Try not to worry, and keep to the infant formula she's taking. By the way, if you ever did decide to switch to a follow on milk, stage 3 formulas are for babies aged over 1 (but like I said, they're not needed! They're a marketing con...)

What the borrower said . The times where stage 3 formula have come in useful are only when travelling and wasn't easy to get or carry milk .

these follow on milks have been invented simply so that advertisers can legally advertise their brand. (cant advertise things for children under 6 months legally)

they are not necessary and first milk is fine
