Another green poo question!

DS is 4 weeks old today. EBF with the aid of nipple shields (due to flat nipples/high palate - starting to wean them off now) and feeds every 1.5-2hrs during the day and at least every 4hrs at night - has at least 9 feeds each 24hr period and is gaining weight - has put on 15.5oz in the last 2 weeks.

For the last 2 days he has been feeding more frequently during the day, sometimes every 30 mins. The length of feed varies from 10-40mins and he comes off by himself looking satisfied with a "milk drunk" face - only way I can describe it! He's a bit sick at times but always wants to feed again straight away and doesn't seem distressed by it.

However his poos have been consistently green for the last 2 days as well. Same soft consistency, "seedy" appearance and volume/quantity, just green.

I'm not sure if I should be concerned - is it worth trying block feeding to see if this helps?

If he is happy and gaining weight I wouldn't do anything - with block feeding you risk reducing your supply, and as it doesn't seem like oversupply is a problem that wouldn't be great. Sometimes poo is just green.

Does it look like pesto? I was told that was a foremilk/hindmilk imbalance and to try and get DD to feed for longer and slightly less frequently. I also used shields due to flat nipples. HTH.

yep, pesto is a good description Grin it's cleared up now, lots of mustardy poo instead!
