Gripe water question

Hi all.... a new mum here, with a 6wo DS. He seems to suffer with trapped wind (at the bum end!), with it often keeping him awake at night while he grunts and strains, sometimes even ending up with crying. Will gripe water help with this? I wasn't sure if that was more for getting burps up? Although I realise it's all connected!!

IME Gripe water does nothing whatsoever, but I do know people that swear otherwise!

It doesn't cost much, so no harm in trying it out :)

Gripe water never had much effect here either.

Try the 'I Love You' tummy massage to help move the air along. Lie them down and sit by their feet then rub an I shape (stroke the tummy upwards on your left), then an L shape (up on the left then across to the right) then a U shape (up on the left, across to the right and down on the right). It is very important when rubbing their tummies to have this basic clockwise direction because that is the way the bowels work.

Also cycle their legs and push their knees very gently up to their tummy.

It is amazing just how much trumpeting can go on doing all this!!! Grin
