Breastfeeding and bowel movements

My sister in law has a 9 week old baby. He has not had a bowel movement for 1 week and 3 days (he is excl. breastfed). He is happy....displaying normal behaviour....cooing and smiling (seemingly not in any pain). I breastfed but don't remember mine going this long without a poo!!! Can any of you experienced mummies comment and advise ASAP.

Thanks

yep , dd regularly went 9-10 days...hv said normal! Apparently b milk is all used by baby with little wasted, hence little waste product, so irregular poos. As long as they ae okk in themselves I wouldn't worry.

Is he producing lots of wet nappies?

As long as he is wet then he will be fine, some babies go a couple of weeks without a poof when being breast fed, don't worry.

Babies up to a few weeks old tend to poo a few times every day. After that age, it can be normal to be only v. infrequently.....I would not be concerned about a happy, healthy 9 week old at all.
