Nursing bras-nice ones for large cup sizes?

Have already been to specialist lingerie shop so not hopeful. The only one they have in 34j (who knew bras could get so big-and I was 34k with dd1!) are Royce non wired (style Jasmine). Grateful to have something that'll fit but they're not pretty. Any suggestions?

I lived in some Royce one (came in pink and white, had little grey dots all over) and whilst it was the best of the bunch I could find (I think I topped out at HH myself - others all seemed to give me really weirdly shaped boobs, or a very sweaty cleavage) it wasn't great. I had 6, we're 1 year in and I'm down to one sorry, saggy, refuses to keep the strap adjusters in place one as the little plastic clips have slowly cracked on all the rest.

Bravissimo don't sell it anymore, and I didn't try any of the 4 they have by now (and can't be bothered to buy any more nursing bras.. I'm wearing proper grown up ones now he can be given juice and wait for milk until we get home)

Completely unhelpful.... sorry...

I love Anita on figleaves.com. You need to search by brand Anita as they don't come up in nursing bra search
Several styles and far comfier than rotten Royce

Hotmilk do some really pretty ones. However, I found them much more generous in sizing than Bravissimo (I'd guess they're about a cup and back size bigger based on the one I bought). Otherwise you can buy adjusters to turn normal bras into nursing ones. I've not done it as I'm hamfisted terribly busy but I know some people who swear by them...

I'd go for plain underwired Anita nursing bras. They aren't exactly pretty - but they do at least look like a standard non-padded t-shirt bra (i.e. inoffensive, don't give you bosom like a Victorian school matron).

It's the bosom look I object to most about the whole thing! Not ready to look like les Dawson in drag yet, god rest his soul Grin

I would recommend the Anita underwired. It is really confortable. Other than that the hotmilk ones are comfortable.

I found good big underwired bras on www.nursingbra-shop.co.uk.

Am still a 36HH but DS2 (22mths) is still feeding despite best endeavours to persuade him otherwise. Couldn't have survived this long without decent bras and definitely couldn't have faced returning to work with a monoboob :-)

I ordered four, kept two, returned two. No fuss, was good service.

I keep moaning at Bravissimo about their lack of stock of underwired feeding bras. They wax lyrical about the essentials of good fitting bras, and yet abandon us when we get pregnant and want to feed and only supply (for me) non supportive non underwired bras. The look on the faces of the girls trying to fit me into non-underwired bras that don't provide any support, whilst they try to convince me it is better for me is quite comical.

(Still love their normal bras though)

Ooo, I had only found NCT ones so far for my 34K feeding boobs. Will be looking up Royce asap :D

I'd thoroughly recommend the Bravado Bliss nursing bra - it's non-wired but gives good support and looks almost pretty. It's also so comfy that I'm still wearing mine even though I gave up bf a month ago!

I second Hotmilk, they are beautiful and comfy though non wired they do give good shape when you get the right size. I have a 34j royce as well. Functional and underwired but possibly the ugliest underwear I ever owned. Hotmilk bra backs have 8 width clips so you can wear from just before birth when your ribcage is in the way to 9 months post baby when you start being you shaped again.

Jasmine is the worst of the Royce styles! The Charlotte and Sadie are a better shape. Panache Sophie is far nicer although it finishes at a J and is a lot more generous in the back. Their new style Alisha seemed quite small in the cup when I tried it on someone the other day but I've not 'roadtested' it enough to be sure.

So helpful, thanks all! Think my bras might suddenly not fit any more necessitating online bra shopping spree Wink. Bosom for a pillow-absolutely! I have a lovely but private new born photo of dd2 with her arm round seemingly cuddling the vast breast that is significantly bigger than her 98th centile head Grin. You will all know that that is def not a boast!

Being already 'large of bust!' I am planning on sewing poppers into my maternity bras (assuming they fit).

as I type this I realised I should probably should plan to do this before the little one arrives as it might not be top of my list when he's squarking for his dinner!

Hotmilk are fab. They actually made my 'bosom' look like perky boobs, hurrah!

Very pretty, and practical too - they have about 12 sets of hook + eyes, which allows for huge amounts of boob change. Still wearing it now, actually, and ds is long weaned :o
