Tommee Tippee bottle no good

I have always used the Born Free anti colic bottles so far and they are really good but am finding the anti colic device a bit fiddly to wash. Neither of my babies had colic but the first one did have bad wind and this bottle was good at stopping that so we continued using them with my second baby. I tried a Tommee Tippee bottle today and the teat keeps being sucked into the bottle so my 6 month old can't get at the milk and he gets really frustrated. Can anyone recommend a good baby bottle?

Is the teat too slow?

I am not sure. As soon as he gets a good hold on it the teat gets sucked into the bottle!

Poke something small and pointy down the air valve in the teat - it may have got blocked or not have been finished properly during manufacture.

Are you using the teat that came with the bottle? As I have discovered that the reason ds3 was refusing the bottle was because the Tommee Tippee ones are supplied with a newborn (will have the number 1 moulded into it) teat that was so slow it was frustrating him. Tried the number 2 and the number 3, but found the Variflo (with an x moulded into it) suited him best, as he can control the speed of the flow, just like he can on the boob.

The number 1 teats will be far too slow for a 6mo baby, Tommee Tippee recommend either the '3' or the variflo for babies 6mo+.

2nd vote for MAM. They have the anti-colic airflow base, but less leaky than Dr Brown (so I am told)
