tandem feeding while pregnant..

i tandem my 28 month old and 11 month old and im 14 weeks pregnant, just looking for someone whos btdt? anyone?

We are vluck that several people on here feed several children. I tandem fed through my last pregnancy and my nurselings are 4.11 yr, 2.11 yrs and 11 yrs atm. What do you need to know ?

I tandem fed DD1 & DD2 through to 36 of DD3's pg when DD1 self weaned. DD1 was 2.10 when I got pg and DD2 was 13/14m.

I was very lucky and had a super-pro bfing MW who thought it was fab I was feeding the both of them and we had long chats about how lovely bfing was.

She was a bit concerned about what might happen when DD3 was born as I obviously don't have 3 breasts but as I didn't physically feed DD1 & 2 together (they took turns and shared nicely) I knew I would figure something out

DD2 & DD3 are nursing now at 3.8 & 21m

I wish I had something to share, but nothing. But I am hoping to get down to two nurselings soon. DD1 goes days without asking to nurse. I wibble between joy and tears...sad I know

So no long term plans for DD1 then?

Years ago when I was pg with DD3 I was convinced that DD2 would wean before DD1 ever did and now DD2 has gone longer than DD1 did (I thought I would be tandem feeding DD1 & DD3 but not DD2 if that makes sense?).

I get sad a the thought of DD2 weaning and don't even go there with DD3 she's still only little

DS1 and DD2 are far too young to wean at nearly 3 years and 1 years old.

Odd as a few years ago I would of panicked at the thought of DD2 at 1 year old nursing and then slowly over time, your attitude changes.

DD1 askes a lot and try to distract her when I can.

To be honest I don't think DD2 will wean any time soon as she is still very attached to it. She can go a day or so with out it (she used to be able to go up to a week with out nursing but not any longer, poss due to her arthritis or something else?) but when she needs it, she needs it.

Babies shouldn't get arthritis :( Glad that nursing gives pain relief.

Also helps with the gastritis that the painkillers have given her, as she feels sick a lot of the time.

I hate her being ill, though on the bright side she is a LOT better than she was earlier in the year so I am very pleased about that. I just want her to be really well

Me too, and apologies for teeny tiny thread derailing last night .

You are not weird, a hippy, indulgent, spoiling your toddler (or newborn to be!), weak, using up all the colostrum before the baby is born, making a rod for your own back, putting your pg at risk (unless you have been put on strict pelvic rest and haven't mentioned it?) or any other twaddle that comes out of people's moths when they don't think.

You are mothering your children the best way you know with the best of intentions towards them, with love in your heart and in your arms. There is nothing wrong with that at all.
