Could anyone offer me some advice please? I've been swapping my DS from b/milk to bottle milk gradually and it has all gone fine. Yesterday morning, i gave DS his final b/feed (half b/feed, half bottle). However, i'm now in quite a lot of discomfort and i dont know what to do. I dont really want to express, as i think it'll tell my body to continue producing more milk. Any ideas? Advice would be v. gratefully received (poor DH tried to touch them this am and got his head bitten off for the privilege)

Paracetamals. Its uncomfortable, but will ease soon.

Definitely don't express. All I can suggest is don't touch them, wear a tight fitting bra, take some paracetamol. You could try having a hot shower as that always gets my let-down going and might provide some relief but then again you might be supposed to avoid that - see what the experts say....

I found when i was stopping that expressing a small amount was the best thing in the mornings and then each day getting a little less off. I have told this to alot of other mothers who have found that this has worked.

After you have reduced what you are producing skip a morning and gradually get through the day. It takes it time but it worked for me.

you can still express - just do it carefully so as not to initiate a let down. It is ok to express a little to help ease your discomfort.
