Baby feeding friendly places?

To counter today's thread,

How about also promoting some nice places where you'll be welcomed and given a glass of water while BFing, they'll heat a bottle for you, nice changing facilities, they keep the high chairs clean, etc?

Pizza express waiter came over to offer to cut my food up when I was feeding dd3.

Oh I knew someone else who that happened to in Pizza Express :)

Jamie's Italian in Bristol couldn't be more welcoming. Great for kids as well as babies. Lovely, lovely staff.

Sanders Yard in Whitby. Comfortable sofas, a toy box for toddlers, delicious cakes and super breast-feeding friendly. Does good breakfasts and lunches too. Definitely worth a visit if you're ever by the seaside.

Greenlands Farm near Carnforth was very accomodating to me and another 10 or so bf mums recently. Lovely cakes too! We are working our way round the local cafes (provided they are big enough to cope with us all and all our babies). And just to counter the other thread we have never EVER had ANY negative comments about our bf practices from staff or customers. And there can be up to 13 of us with our norks out at anyone time (babies from 6 weeks to 9mo).

M&S cafes, infact most department store cafes I guess.

I breastfeed anywhere though, not necessarily where there are high chairs or changing facilities.

I live in Manchester and I think all the museums and art galleries are also great for breastfeeding in as they all have teh facilites, plus tea and lots of cake. Much nicer than department stores.
I love the Manchester Art Gallery and the Whitworth Art Gallery.

choceyes me too - but what I thought would be nice would be to promote some places which are particularly friendly :)

There's one called Lucy's Cafe in Ossett, West Yorkshire, for instance, which promotes itself as a baby-friendly place, breastfeeding welcome and of course help with formula, etc. I've not been but it's got good reviews locally.

It would be nice to make the effort to go to places which also make the specific effort, I think, so letting others know where has been good can only be a positive thing.

Sort of one up from just feeding everywhere and not being hassled (which is of course the absolute norm).

St Davids shopping centre in Cardiff has fab feeding rooms. I dont advocate using feeding rooms for hiding away but if you have a ds like mine who takes a loooooong time feeding and you are a)too tight to pay for coffee to sit in a cafe and b) too physically uncomfortable on a bench then their big sofas and armchairs are fab. Just wish they would put in a water machine like John Lewis have (but they have crap chairs). Also, we fitted 3 bfers in there last week :)

JL like to improve customer shopping experience so might be worth e-mailing them to tell them the chairs are crap.

I wonder if cafes etc would improve if you provide feedback whether good or bad? let's face it, we tend to have a little moan but then just don't bother going again.

Westfield shopping centre has been designed with babies/toddlers in mind. Each changing/feeding suite has huge easy to enter doors, an area with with a small telly showing cartoons with seats/climbing area, well thought out baby change, food/formula warming area, toilets big enough to take buggies and the nicest individual feeding rooms with leather chair plus large foot stool and dimmed lights. Of course I can't imagine they would mind at all if you fed on one of the many comfy, leather seating areas dotted round the shops, but it's nice to stop for the calm that is the baby rooms. There is also an area outside the children's shops for crawlers to toddlers to play in. Makes for a nice day out.
