I was woken up in the early hours of the morning by the slurping grunting noises of my teeny 3 month old helping herself to boob! (fell asleep with it hanging out) Brought a tear of Aww to my eyes.

Just thought I'd share. Just that moment made the 6 weeks of hell all totally worth it.

I remember those days, so sweet. These days, I can't take my bra off in the vacinity of 10mo DD without her launching headfirst at my chest - makes getting ready for work in the morning challenging!

I remember often waking up to find ds1 has padded through from his room, climbed in bed and latched on without me even waking

I made the mistake of going to get my DS out of bed at 7 this morning without my dressing gown on. Yes it was time for his breakfast feed, but I was not expecting him to have latched on before I got back into bed and got comfy

When my 4 month old tries to help herself it brings a tear to my eyes. But for the wrong reason. She inevitably ends up missing the nipple completely and leaving me with friction burn on my boob.

Oh Muser, I've had a few of those. Look like the worlds most inappropriate hickies.

It is lovely when you get moments like this. I thought I was having oneearlier when DS (2 mths) was feeding away happily with a pain free latch and I was thinking how lovely it was that I was able to soothe him this was as he's been feeling a bit grouchy from his jabs this morning. He then started squiming and making loud grunting noises before producing a mamoth poo that no nappy could contain all without a consideration that he may wish to stop feeding

Impressive. I always thought they couldn't suck and push at the same time.

DS was like this. When I was trying to dissuade him from night feeds (he was around 2 to be fair!) I had to wear really tight tops to bed and he'd still have a good go at them!

I remember reading a thread where someone's toddler helped themselves while she'd tipped her head upside down to towel dry her hair or something!

Mine have helped themselves when I went to pick one of them out of the bath (can't remember which one though!), DD1 wandered up when I was on the loo first thing in the morning and helped herself (which lead to the 'Not while Mummy is on the Loo' rule) and DD3 has launched herself up the bed (literally jumped ) to 'protect' the other side when DD2 was nursing and had popped off to ask for the other side.

It's good fun nursing toddlers - it's just all about me and my needs
