pulling away - nipple ping! ow...

DD (nearly 1yo) needs to learn some bf manners - she's recently got a habit of pulling away during/after a feed without first opening her mouth, so my nipple stretches and pings out. Any suggestions for how I help her learn to open her mouth before letting go?! I'm off to bed now but will check in again tomorrow...

Know how much that hurts Numpty so you have my sympathy but don't know the answer sorry. Hopefully someone will be along shortly to help.

Can you press down on the boob before she pulls away to break to airlock effect?

Or does that only work on young babies?

Thanks for the replies/sympathy, ladies! I'll try pressing down on the boob, though it's sometimes hard to predict when she'll do it (she can do it several times over the course of a feed depending on how distracted she is)...
