hi all. wondered whether teat size a baby needs is impacted by whether he's still bfing. ds (6 months) is bf apart from bedtime feed. i still use a size 2 avent teat for the bottle feed but noticed that other babies his age are using much faster flowing ones. he has been a bit fussy during his bottle feed the last few nights and i wondered if he may be getting frustrated with rate of flow. but then surely boob flow remains constant, and he doesn't get frustrated with his breast feeds...?

Vic, they usually get quicker at bf as they get older, so think maybe the flow does get faster from the breast? I have my ds3 , (8 months) on a fast-flow Playtex teat but they only have 2 sizes so not very helpful! I moved him from a slow-flow to medium-fLOW mam TEAT WHEN i NOTICEDthat he was sucking so hard that the teat was collapsing, but I don't know if an Avent teat would collapse in the same way. Why not buy the avent variable flow teat and you could try it out to see if he prefers the faster flow?
