website displaying negative experience of breastfeeding www.mums.net

Really poor article on 3 quite negative breastfeeding experiences, personally I think it would frighten anyone from having a baby never mind breastfeeding

If you agree with me that it not a balanced article and does not reflect most peoples experience of breastfeeding, please complain to them

I have emailed to complain

www.mums.net/index.php?document=20&article=6

please note it is mums.net not mumsnet

excellent point Hulababy, B/feeding much more convenient in the middle of the night than bottle feeding

Serah · 15/11/2005 21:43

crumbs... missed out on the jelly babies again! Was slaving away in the kitchen making some spiced crab apple jelly. Stilton anyone?? (Never the same at the pictures, admittedly)

verastones · 15/11/2005 21:44

absolutely! and when you are out and about shopping etc.

obviously its not so good when you want a night out (i cant be bothered expressing milk) but I was drinking far too much prior to pregnancy and have really enjoyed a break from hangovers

I always feed lying down

am going back to work in Jan so will have to cut down feeds, dreading it

I am OUTRAGED by Roo77's comments (and I breastfed my ds so no axe to grind). How patronising?! 'People just expect things to land in their lap'! Well, actually I'd rather my breasts didn't end up in my lap. But apart from the poor phrasing, do you really think flinging around insults will do anything to help to promote breastfeeding?

Roo, if you want to influence people, you are going to have to do an awful lot of work on your communication skills. And take more time and trouble to find out what the real issues are, rather than leaping to conclusions.

Uhmmm, had some Stinking Bishop that some cheese maggots crawled out of once... haven't bought any since, strangely enough!

Could try port, yes. Generally a little civillised for me, but could do it

verastones · 15/11/2005 21:52

why do members seem to jump down peoples throats for expressing thier opinions

People jump down people's throats when their views are very patronising and tactlessly put
