Doing one formula feed?

Hi.

I ebf my 12-week DD after a few weeks (around weeks 4-8) of combined feeding (bf, expressing and some formula top-ups) as a result of slow weight gain. DD is now gaining very well and climbing centiles so I'm relaxing a little about our feeding regime. So I'm now thinking about introducing one formula feed, maybe late afternoon around the time DP comes home from work, to give me a bit of a break/flexibility. DD seemed to cope very well with bottles and breast previously and we're obviously more established now, and I feed quite regularly through the evening so can't imagine there'd be an impact on my supply, but I was wondering if there'd be any other potential problems with one formula bottle?

Because of the wearing bf/expressing regime we were following I'm not sure I can face expressing for this bottle, but might be up for doing that sometime/occasionally.

Thanks!

Sounds like this should work really well for you :) I think this is something quite a few people do once feeding is established.

I did that for a while when DD was little, up to about 4 months, then just went to BFing totally as she then refused the bottle! Didn't really have any problems when doing it though some would argue it messes with your supply etc. i never found it did.

Thanks for the reassurance! Think we'll plan to go ahead with this...
