Support groups in Middlesborough?

hi I've tried google and checking on ABM and LLL website but can't seem to find any support groups in the Middlesborough area. I have an acquaintance who would like to bf and has GD so I'd really like to point here in the direction of a peer-support group or BFC.

Hello, I live in Stockton.
However as I am registered with JCUH, I have some info about Middlesbrough Surestart.

There is a Breast Buddies group in Coulby Newham, at the Children's Centre on the St Augustine site, their number is 01642 598012.
This group runs on a Monday from 1:15 - 2.45.
It would be worth giving them a ring to find out what other groups they have.

Alternatively, there are groups in Thornaby, Central Stockton, Billingham, Norton, Yarm and Norton if these are any good to your friend?

The NCT also have various groups as well.

This link also contains info on how to contact the NCT BFC, I am pretty sure she would come out to Middlesbrough - she visited a friend of mine when she was in the hospital at Northallerton.

That link is not very good, I'm afraid. It doesn't mention any of the groups in Stockton, or the group I mentioned in Middlesbrough!

Sorry, I thought it might be useful in case there were any additional groups around. Personally I have found it useful in various areas of the country as it collects a lot of different organisations together and I find breastfeeding support is not very joined up. I never claimed it was 100% comprehensive. Perhaps I should add that next time

And perhaps you should contact them and ask them to add the missing ones to their database.

Thank you. I also contacted the NCT breastfeeding counsellor and she's given me some info.

Cool I have provided information about the Stockton groups and they are also on the NCT Teesside link as well.

She may find that the groups in Redcar and Guisborough will be more convenient for her then.
