Do I bother getting more formula?

Am about to run out and DD is going to be one in about 19 days (to be precise..). I probably would get through a tin in that amount of time but I'm wondering whether I might as well switch to full fat normal milk now. I mean, they presumably don't magically not need milk on their first birthday do they? Around 1 should be ok shouldn't it?

No actual knowledge here but I think it is around 1 rather than the stroke of midnight...

I think in general it depends on how well she eats and how much milk she consumes - i.e. if she has 6 8oz beakers a day and barely eats I'd go for formula but if she eats a wide variety of foods and only has 2 6oz beakers a day then cow's milk before 1 wouldn't be a terrible thing.

You may find though that she doesn't like straight cow's milk to start with so you may need to cut it with formula (i.e. make 4oz of formula and then add 2oz of cow's milk then in a few days moved to 3oz of formula, 3oz cow's milk, etc, etc).

I agree with TruthSweet, I needed to mix cows milk with formula over a week to 10 days as ds would not drink it at all straight, but if your DD will then it shouldn't be a problem

Thanks everyone. She likes drinking the dregs of her siblings proper milk from their cups so am hoping she'll be ok! Will get some full fat milk to try now though while I still have a bit of formula in case I need to mix it. She does eat well most days so I think I'll go for it.
