Tommee Tipee Hand Pump Questions

When you use the microwave steriliser that comes with the pump is there still supposed to be water sitting in the bottom and condensed all over the bits and bobs? Also should I dry them off or leave them wet before using? Any advice appreciated!

Yup, that water should be there, don't worry if you leave the things in it a while as the water is sterile too after being microwaved. You can either leave the water there, a good shake gets rid of the majority so there's hardly any left or leave to air dry on a paper towel. (I find a paper towel on the boob funnel is needed as any last drips of water are usually rather cold!).

Just to say be careful with the TT Hand Pump and microwave sterilising. I melted mine somehow, having used the exact same proceudre several times previously....Blush

I managed to melt mine too (a few times...) but the TT customer services are really good and they sent me a replacement free of charge (the first time...)

Eh?! Is there anything I can do to avoid melting?

Both times for me it was the handle that melted - which I suppose doesn't really need sterilising as it is not in contact with any milk so you could leave it out - but I always found it a pain to disconnect from the rubbery bit. But I think the thing I really did wrong was not leave the valve open on the box (or it was open but resting on the hole) - make sure that it is really open!

My DH melted mine by not putting enough water into the box Hmm
