Best bf'ing cushion?

Any recommendations for a good cushion to help position baby for bf'ing?
Are the my Brest friend ones any good? They seem well reviewed but pricey!
Or a more squashy semi circle style one like they do in mothercare?

Are you bfing alread FollowMe and feel that you need one? Just asking as I wouldn't bother buying one is LO hasn't arrived yet. Not everyone needs one and I just used the cushions off the settee and pillow if I needed some extra support.

Got a couple of months before baby is due still!
I didn't get on well with bf'ing my last dc and stopped after a couple of weeks due to it being so painful.
I thought I'd try and get everything in place to help get good positioning etc this time to improve my chances of getting it sorted!

TBH I think you'd be better off having a selection of pillows and cushions ready at home. Different props suit different people best - and you might need to vary your "prop" depending on what position is working best for you that week/day/feed. I bought an expensive curved pillow and ending up using either a memory foam (so firm) pillow or a feather sofa cushion the most.

Ok then fair enough. One thing you could do to help get things running smoothly this time is to get the numbers of any local Bfing Counsellors in your phone along with the helpline numbers. Try your local branch of NCT, La Leche League and ABM.

Don't know if you've seen this on Kellymom but its every good as is the link to Basics of Breastfeeding in the early weeks.

The Kellymom link has some great information including Recommended Books and books to avoid.

Don't forget too to find out where you local Bfing Support Groups are before you have LO and go along if you can. You don't have to wait until you are tired and having problems, you can go for a cuppa and a chat anytime.

All you will really need is your boobs, your baby and some good support. Hope it all works out for you.

x-posted with Japhrimel. She is right, different props suit different people. Do you know anybody who could lend you different ones to try or is there a local NCT Nearly New Sale going on where you might be able to pick one up?

Thank you! Those links look really helpful.
Will try and try out some different pillows too.

Thanks for the replies Smile
