WWYD? Changing teats

DS is 10 weeks old and mixed fed. BF and then formula top ups.

Would be very grateful for any advice on whether when he turns three months old should I go to faster flowing teats? How do you know when the right moment to go to faster teats is? Is there anything I should be looking out for?

Seen vari flow ones too that I think may be better to use alongside breastfeeding but really unsure as to what would be best.

I formula feed and using Tommee Tippee variflow teats, dd3 is 13 weeks old, I'm just about to change to medium flow teats probably just Boots or Tescos own. I find she's collapsing the teats at the minute.

You could just try a faster flowing teat - if the milk leaks out of his mouth then it's too fast and you'll probably want to wait another week or two. I've got a vague memory of the infant feeding specialist telling me not to use variflow teats, but I can't remember why (although possibly because they're a lot bigger?) and I use Tommee Tippee variflow teats with DS! I thought he was sucking them inside out until I started poking about with the valve. The thin silicone valve on the inside sometimes seems to get stuck closed, so if you just squeeze it gently with your fingers you can see it open up and it then works fine.

We're using Tommee Tippee's at the moment - number 1s. How do vari flow teats work?

I'd stick with newborn teats if you want to continue breastfeeding.

My EBF 7wo DD sucks the teat so hard that with the variflow, milk just stream out of her mouth. It certainly doesn't mimic the breast as it claims! She is a bit of a bottle screamer though so YMMV.
