IV sedation and breastfeeding

I have to undergo a dental procedure next week during which I'll have IV sedation. Does anyone know how long you should leave it after sedation before breastfeeding again? My DS will be 13 weeks and feeds every couple of hours.

I'm not sure you should ask them. But I did have to have a genreal when DD was 10moths old and was able to feed her when DH brought her in.

If you can find out the drugs they will be useing you can check hear.

If you have midazolam and fentanyl it's four hours but if it is something else then you can with the link MigGril provided.

You will need to know what drugs they will be using and get the Dentist to check Hale's Medications and Mothers Milk NOT the BNF (British National Formulary) as the BNF is very conservative over times/contra-indications to bf. Any good pharmacist should have a copy of M&MM - 2010 is the latest edition.
