Argh!
My DD is now five weeks old and breastfed. We are geting the hang of breastfeeding, easing up now. But I am thinking I must buy shares in a breast pad company becuase I am getting through them like anything.
I'm leaking EVERYWHERE! I am so chuffed when I get through a day without changing my top, even if it requires a couple of changes of breastpads.
I tried Avent reusables but they're naff, I don't just leak through them but over them as well!
Please tell me this will get better. I'm planning on breastfeeding until I go back to work, and I was hoping I could do the morning and evening feeds, and formula through the rest of the day, but now I have the fear that it will never settle down and my boobs will pop at work.
Will it settle down, and if so when?
And what are the best breast pads??
Any comments welcomed!

Elf, mine did settle down, so much so that I now don't need to use breastpads at all (dd is 20 weeks and still exclusively bf). I found the johnsons ones most comfortable for night time and I think it was tommy tipee disposible ones, which are very thin but big and more 'cone' shaped iyswim, great for wearing in the daytime if going out as I could get away with wearing quite a clingy top and they didn't show - I didn't leak loads though, so maybe do a trial run at home before putting your faith in them!

Try breast shells (from Boots) - then you can collect the leaky milk and either pour it away or give it in a bottle. I was like you and I never had to express milk (used to collect about 10oz a day, inc. 4oz first thing every morning while he fed off other breast. Not that I'm boasting). Also, they protect sore nipples and give you an instant boob job if you need it (i did).

Oooh, like the idea of breast shields to top up for expressed milk. I have expressed a couple of times to feed DD from a bottle when I'm going somewhere I dont know and am not sure about breastfeeding in public, but try not to do it too much at the mo as I think that makes my boobs think they need to produce more milk!

Elf - I have some breast shells I won off ebay that I don't want (it was part of a whole pile of baby bits). Let me know if you want them, and I'll post em out to you.

xxx
