Hello,
I breastfed exclusively until my daughter was six months old, and then when she went to nursery I gradually dropped feeds, replacing them with food and formula that other people could give her. Now, at nearly ten months, she is breastfed first thing in the morning, and then when she gets back from nursery at five thirty. This seems to work, though its a bit painful when she first latches on, and I suspect the let down is taking longer than it used to and that there is less milk there.
Next week I have to travel with work, so will have to miss the evening feed. I am wondering if I can drop it altogether, or if that will mean that the milk supply drys up and I won't be able to do the morning feed either. I don't think the baby would really mind if this happened, but I am very conscious of the health benefits of breastfeeding, and since she has had a cold more-or-less ever since she started nursery, I don't like to think how ill she would be if I didn't breastfeed at all. Obviously as a working mum it isn't easy when she can't go to nursery.
So has anyone managed to breastfeed only once a day? Is it possible? I'd be very grateful for any advice.
Thanks in advance,
Awakealot
