Hi

Does anyone know if I can get one of these "offline". I have big Boots and Mothercare quite nearby. If not can anyone tell me of a website that offers quick delivery - Im always sooo impatient waiting for things I want!

www.jojomamanbebe.co.uk - they are quick

But Boots sells them - just ring before you go. Mothercare might too.

Thanks, Ill give Boots a ring tomorrow - I had heard they sold them but they dont seem to be on the wellbeing site. Could anyone give me their opinions on the medela - Ive heard its good but would like the "mumsnetter seal of approval" before I invest!

It is good (an dbetter than hand held) but it's a bit noisy.
I expressed daily for 8 months with it !
We have talked about it before on Mumsnet and from what I recall those of us who used it loved it.
Otherwise you can rent a pump (call your local NCT) - usually the cost is a £9 (1 off) and £1/day

I actually prefer the Avent, having used both. It has a nicer feel and massages the breast better to get milk out. When I managed to melt part of my medela on the steam steriliser element I dug out my Avent from first time round, and decided to stick with it.

I have the medela double pump which is only slightly more expensive - you have the option to pump both sides. Found the pump really worthwhile - friends who had the hand held couldnt work them. Is a bit noisy - but I found that my baby feel asleep wth the noise and the vibrations!

Hi,
Tried the Avent manual pump & didn't like it, too much hard work & too many bits to put together. Moved onto the Nuk mini electric pump & it's great. It also takes batteries so you can take it out & about.

I got the medela mini and Im really pleased with it although it is VERY noisy!!

Im building a good stock up in the freezer now!
