Firstly, I am aware that a significant amount of people will read this, make Hmm faces and tell me to get a grip. But I feel quite strongly about this so I'm going to post anyway.

DS goes to a preschool and it's a lovely place. It has a huge range of toys and stuff for role play which is great. It's also stuffed to bursting with babies, prams and oodles of bottles. I really want to say something about the bottles because these kids are at a prime age to absorb information about how babies are fed and normalising breastfeeding from an early age seems to me a fairly important way of improving future breastfeeding rates.

Does anyone know of any literature or something which I could use to make a case to the nursery without looking like a yoghurt-knitting loon?

Good on you op.

But taking the bottles away wouldn't be enough right? My cousins recently starting play BF their dolls after seeing me feed my LO but they had to see me do it first. Are you expecting the staff to explain how they should be feeding the dolls if they were to take the bottles away?

The infant feeding advisor has materials for them. And I've found a book list. If they want I can take DD in to demonstrate Grin but in the main I think it's better not to feed them at all than have a one-sided promotion of formula feeding.

That's cool - I'm not too keen on the dolls either but I felt it worth taking it to counter-act the bottle feeding imagery. they put all the photos up too which provided a talking point. A lot of the children apparently told her that they had been BF so not something they had never encountered.

Oh, and it wasn't a special doll to BF it was one of the ones that come with mummy doll and baby doll. All my children have just picked up their dolls and 'breastfed' them but they had seen me BF their younger siblings - at the time the younger two were still nursing.
