Woke up this morning to find my right breast very engorged and much larger than my left breast. It is also dripping a lot of milk I think I have been subconsciously feeding and expressing more on that side, as right from the beginning i have seemed to have more milk that side, so especially when expressing will get much more that side so has been easier to focus on that boob more. But now i have a whopping boob! Any advice of what i can do to get them back to more of a similar size?! I've been trying to feed more today from the left side to stimulate the production there, is this the right thing to do? I am just worried that the right breast is very full and if I don't empty it regulalry could cause blocked ducts/mastitis?

thanks for help

My right side was always bigger too - fuller on that side so I fed more often from it. I also tried to feed more from the left but often forgot. They evened out a bit more as ds got older.

I'm with you - my right one has been quite a bit bigger than the left since the start, and gets engorged at night where the left one is more comfortable. I'm making a real effort to feed more from the left and I think they are beginning to even out but there's still a big difference - and with the right producing more milk it's a sort of self-perpetuationg thing. Interestingly the smaller side is my baby's favourite - the milk comes out of the larger side faster and sometimes she chokes on it a bit as she can't keep up, so sometimes she's wary of the right boob. If you're vain like me (I feel quite self-conscious about my lopsided chest) I recommend wearing a bra with moulded cups (I have Mothercare ones) in a size that fits the bigger boob - makes it a lot less obvious beneath clothing and you can pop an extra breast pad into the smaller side if it's far too loose.
