Green Poo

Not sure where to put this but.... my ds 4 1/2 mths has been having constant green poos for about 10 days now. HV said it was ok but i am not convinced and dont really trust my GP.
He is bottle fed, takes about 5 7oz bottles each day. I haven't changed his amount type or anything to do with his feeds for at least a month.
Anyone able to help or point in the right direction would be appreciated

If he has no other symptoms I wouldn't worry. :)

My friend's baby poo-ed green until he was weaned :-) I think some of them just do...

I asked my son's paediatrician about this when he was in hospital and apparently it just means it's come out more quickly. He said that it goes yellow when it's passed through the digestive system (something to do with the liver, i think but don't quote me on that!) but if it's green it just hasn't had the time to go yellow IYSWIM
Nothing to worry about if no other symproms!

Thankyou all. I am more reassured now :)

is he on comfort milk? my DS had green poos the whole time he was on it.

just a thought. it never bothered him!

My DD had green poo a lot before she was weaned. After a month of it doctor agreed to check there was no infection and of course her poo returned to yellow that day. Smile

If his weight gain is OK and he seems well I wouldn't worry but it may be worth asking GP to anayise a sample if it doesn't improve soon.
