Stopping breastfeeding

Hi, just wanted some advice really re. stopping breastfeeding and going onto cows milk or formula. My DD is 1 year old and I'm still breastfeeding. I kind of want to stop now and I started giving her cows milk in a beaker but she wouldn't drink it. I then tried formula and she's started drinking about 4 oz in a beaker. I only give it to her in the morning. She goes to nursery where she drinks a little bit of milk, then I breastfeed her before she goes to bed. I will drop the last feed but only when I know she's drinking enough.
The problem is that with the formula milk, she's started to soil her nappy at least 4 times a day where as before she would only once or twice. She's also got nappy rash now which she never had before.
Do you think I should try the cows milk again and maybe perservere? I also worry that she may not get enough calcium and iron simply from the cows milk as we are bringing her up vegetarian.
any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you

Milk isn't a great source of iron anyway, so she'd be better getting it from food sources.

Maybe try a different brand of formula? Are you using first milk/follow-on or toddler milk? First milk might be easier to digest.

You could also try sweetening or flavouring cow's milk, since that is what appeals about formula.
