My 3 month old has decreased the amount of formula she is taking :o(

It has been gradually happening over the last couple of weeks, we initially put it down to the heat, but the suns gone now and were back to normal temperatures!

She was consistently taking between 100-120 ml 7 times a day, and had dropped a night feed, so we were typically doing;

3, 7, 10, 13, 16, 19.00, 22.00 (dream feed)

Now, on a typical day we are lucky if she takes 90 at;

1, 4, 7, 10, 13, 16, 19, 22 (dream feed)

We've tried burping more frequently, less frequently, but either way, once the bottle comes out, you can't get it back in again (she pokes it out with her tongue) and fights you if you try to put it back again.

We were using size 1 teats and have increased to size 2 teats - it doesn't seem to make any difference, I have also tried variflow, again, I can't see that they make any difference.

I am using SMA and tommy tippee bottles.

She hasn't been weighed for a couple of weeks due to the bank holidays - but I want my long stretches of sleep back through the night!

DH seems to think that we shoudl make her wait 4 hours for a feed, hoping she will take more - any ideas if this could work?

you could try waiting till sometime between 3 and 4 hours and see if she takes any more. Do you offer 3 hourly or is she asking for a feed at that point?
