Question about Dr Brown teats

Hi

So DS is FF and we use Dr Brown bottles. DS is 5 months and I only just (shamefully) realised we've been using Level 1 teats - they're for up to 3 months. We've switched to Level 2 but there's a lot more spillage and obviously miklk coming out a bit faster, so he has coughed/choked more. Should we persevere so he gets used to it? Or revert back? I don't want him to gag nor do I want him to have to suck very hard (if we go back to level 1, but that said, I would never have known they were the wrong age teats if I'd not read the box in Mothercare)

Thanks

We use those bottles too, and changed to the next level when DS suddenly slowed down feeding. He went from 20 mins to 40 mins for 6oz. He's 5.5 months now and on lev 3's because he's on special milk which is really thick. Some babies splutter a bit when you offer the faster teat, some don't. Your DS will get used to them. You could try him the slower teat again and see if he can be bothered to suck a bit harder, we did that and found DS preferred the faster teat after all.
