6MO feeding..not sure she is having enough

Hi All

Just a quick one about my DD. At the moment she feeds 5am, 8am, 12 noon, 4.30pm and sometimes 11pm but doesn't always wake for it. Is that ok? I guess I worry because of the big gap between 8-12. Also given her small amounts of puree lunchtime and baby rice evening.

There's a bigger gap between 12 and 4.30.

I fed to demand and trusted dd to take what she needed. As long as she was happy, weeing, pooing, gaining weight and thriving I knew she was fine.

Is she okay? Still well? Gaining? Happy? Not asking for more?

And as long as you give milk first and then solids afterwards I'd trust your child to self regulate.

Apart from the general teething blips she seems happy and smiley enough but I guess it just feels so little in comparison to how it used to be! Not that I am complaining!

My DD is 6 months too and seems to be dropping milk feeds dramatically, with me having to offer now, without waiting for her to ask.

She's on 3 small meals a day and bf's around 6am, 9.30am, 12pm, 4pm & 7pm, which when written down still seems a lot, but she takes very little and because I can't see what she's getting, I worry she isn't taking enough milk.

I'm sure if I didn't offer she would wean herself completely!

My 6mo DD also only feeds about 4 or 5 times in 24 hrs. I used to worry but when I left her for 24hrs with EBM she was taking 5-9oz at each feed so I reckon she takes plenty each feed (even if it seems like quite a quick one). Unfortunately for me she has her longest gaps in the day and feeds more often over night [cconfused] - trying to persuade her to go the other way now!
