Refusing feeds - confused & upset!

DD is 9 months and has already refused her feeds today (ebf). Normally she would've had 2 or 3 by now. She has started to properly eat solids recently rather than just play with food, which is brilliant and so I was expecting her to reduce bf a little...but not quite like this!
I'm slightly concerned that she now wont be getting enough milk throughout the day.
I'm also feeling a bit emotional about it which is probably making it worse in my mind :(
What's the minimum a 9mo needs in terms of bf?
Her weight is consistent 75th centile but that was before she started refusing her feeds.

Feel for you - feeding is the most satisfying thing in the world and it is v upsetting if it doesn't happen as we want it to.

My suggestion would be to not worry if it's just today - she may just be having an off day. Give it a few days and if you're worried that she's not taking enough speak to your HV.

Big hugs. Hope she re-finds the breast soon. xx

Sounds like a nursing strike.

Kellymom has some info and if you search on here / google it, then you'll find lots of info - it's very common.

My DS went on strike at 13 months for 12 days.

I'd give her expressed milk if you need to, and get her checked out by the GP if you can - when my DS did this it turned out he had an ear infection (& chest infection, followed by v&d bug too) which made it uncomfortable for him to feed.

Try feeding when she's sleepy or just waking up.

Hope it improves soon.
