Top teeth coming through and hurting me

DD has three top teeth coming through (at the front). She isn't biting me but the teeth (or one of them at least) are rubbing against me when she feeds.
It's not agonising but it's sore and uncomfortable. I've had a nosey this morning and I have a bit of broken skin the size and shape of her tooth where the nipple meets the aereola (spelling and anatomical knowledge bit ropey but hope you know what I mean).

We had a lot of help when she was first breastfeeding and the bfc said she had a tendency to suck onto her latch but since it wasn't hurting me and she was growing well we just let it be.

Any experience of this out there? I'm hoping the answer is to put on lanisoh and grit my teeth and it will pass in a couple of weeks... But it would be nice to hear other positive stories as I'm scared what will happen as the tooth keeps growing!

Thanks

Yes, just slap on some lanisoh and grit your teeth Grin Your DD just needs to learn to adjust her latch a bit, it shouldn't take long with a bit of practice. I'm still feeding my 2.6 yo DD1 and she's got a mouth full of teeth. It only gets sore when she wriggles around too much so now might be a good time to start encouraging your DD to sit still (reading a story works well). Not too still though because it can be a bit sore if they fall asleep on the boob and their jaw relaxes.

If things are still bad in a couple of weeks then you might need to talk to a BFC again but if things have been going well then they should right themselves again once your DD has mastered having teeth.

I always find DS sore & 'scrapey' when teeth are coming through but it always improves once the teeth are actually through and he's got used to them.

Thanks guys. Fingers crossed it will pass.

I've remembered my old trick of hand expressing a bit of milk, rubbing it on and letting it air dry. Means lots of time topless but DH isn't complaining!!
