Argh! I can't tell whether my baby is hungry or windy, especially at night. She does seem to struggle getting her wind up and whinges. My husband can wind her and she settles but with me she won't settle. I end up offering her a feed which she never refuses. Sometimes I think its purely for comfort as she only sucks for a short time then falls asleep. However, more often than not she'll feed and then bring some up again. (I'm breastfeding by the way).

Sounds like wind to me when she brings some back up again if she feeds a little and I think you are right she is probably just comfort feeding. Have you tried infacol? We used that and colief as neither on their own was very effective but together they worked brill. We are now reducing colief but still using infacol and it is great for my DD (20wks). I found that you need to give it a few days to work into the system before you get the full effect. There are other things out there that work better on others if infacol is no good. Also I cycle my babies legs quite often and do free nappy time etc as she suffered terribly with wind and also has silent reflux.

All the best :)
