DS not feeding

DD is 13 weeks old and is exclusively BF. He was getting EBM as he was in NICU the first week that he was born but stopped at 5 weeks as he gained weight really well and I think he was showing signs of nipple preference.

He's had a sniffly nose for several weeks and since last week or so eczema looking rashes which we've seen the GP about. After doing some reading I cut out milk and cheesee seemed to suffer less from wind. Yesterday I had a cheese omelette and he's not had any milk since 9pm last night. He woke up once last night, it seemed like the skin on his face was bothering him (he does wear scratch mitts at night) but refused to feed and wouldn't feed this morning. In desperation I've pumped some milk but he's not even bothering with the bottle.

Funnily enough he seems content and is laughing with his big sister Confused . Any ideas why he won't feed and what else I could try? Trying not to panic as I don't want him to dehydrate!

Sounds like a nursing strike - search on here or google, and you'll find more info on them.

I'd try using a syringe or a cup to get some milk into him. I'd give one of the helplines a call - the NCT perhaps.

Kellymom has some strategies to help persuade babies to start feeding again.
