Do you think a dreamfeed would help?

Hi all,

DS is 10 weeks old and his current routine is feed and bed by 8.30pm, then wake for a feed at 1.30 and 5.30.

I find it really hard to sleep after the 1.30 feed and wondered about aasking dh to give an expressed bottle at 11.30 when he goes to bed.

what do you think?

i am sick of ppl asking "is he not sleeping through yet?" grrrrr

Oh that question doesnt stop, does it?! Every tom dick and harriet asks that. Ive given up telling the truth and just say whatever seems to fit...... Really frickin irritating.

We started waking our dd up for the 11pm one. Sometimes it works (mostly) and sometimes it doesnt. Ive found it seems to fit better with her sleeping for the most part though. I found 10pm was too early and led to her waking at 12:30. Shes presently going 11pm, 3:30, 6:30 ish more often than not.... Although frankly it often feels different every blooming day.

How do you get your DS to go down at 8pm and stay down? I find the early evenings can be very unpredictable..... Day time is pretty fine, and overnight is ok but between 7-11 anything can go! Got a routine but its roulette as to what she actually does. She did go 8-10 religiously for about a month, then stopped for no apparent reason. Hoping its a phase...... (Please heavenly father.....!)

Last thing I found that worked wonders was a grobag. Wasnt sure at first but Ive found some of her waking was just that she kicked the covers off...unsure if relevant for you, but thought Id mention incase. Shes definately now only waking to eat.

Hi< thanks for replying! Yeah it seems that everyone is obsessed with sleeping (me included haha).

I might try the dreamfeed, I would just like to have a little longer before the first wake up. But i worry that he might still wake at 1.30 and then I have introduced another feed. Hmmmm tricky one!

As for getting him to go down, he normally has a big feed at 8pm (his choice) and then falls asleep, so I swaddle him and pop him in his moses basket. Swaddling seems to have done the trick for us, stops his arms startling him.

Last night however he didnt fall asleep after his feed, but I just swaddled him anyway and popped him in his cot. He gurgled for a few minutes and then fell asleep. I think it helps that he has no naps during the day so is shattered!
