NUK bottles

I am desperately trying to get DD (7 wks) onto a bottle of expressed milk so that I can do the odd day's work.

She was taking Avent bottles at 3 weeks, then I stupidly stopped bottle feeding for a few days and now she flat out refuses the Avent bottle. I have also tried Tommee Tippee but no joy.

I have been recommended NUK by a friend and wondered if any MNers have any thoughts.

Thanks!

My dd wouldn't take tommee tippee so I went for a teat that looked completely different - Mam. I think they're fab and the whole colic thing makes sense to me. Some people find that putting them together is a pain but even my dh could do it and he's rubbish at things like that - should have seen him struggle with the pushchair. Hilarious.

Seriously though - dd took to Mam bottles with no problems at all and because of how they come appart you can sterilise them in the microwave without a steriliser. I use one at home but it's handy not to have to take it to my parents when we visit.

Sorry I can't advise on Nuk - I went against them as the teat seemed too similar to the ones dd was struggling with.

I used NUK with latex teats for my DD. She was mostly BF but seemed to get on with this bottle. They are cute too! I had glass ones.

DS has latex NUK dummies, and when he has a bottle they are NUK latex too. He seems fine with them. Not tried the silicone though.

Yes, when DS2 has a bottle it's NUK, we've tried both latex and silicone and he gets on fine with them. MUCH better than TT.

My DD used NUK bottles mainly silicone teats.

Will be using them for this baby too.

DD now takes NUK bottles after intially having the odd Avent one before flat out refusal. Managed to coax her back with NUK, have only tried the latex teats. HTH

Thanks to all.

Pleased to report definite progress with the NUK. We've certainly not cracked it but she took 80ml, albeit with some reluctance and a bit of crying Sad

For anyone else who is considering trying NUK, they are on offer with Ocado at the moment.
