Dream feeding what's your thoughts?

We've been dream feeding for over a week now and it seems to be working 10.30pm to 5am (however we have changed to comfort milk and she's not taking as much therefore not sleeping as long) does dream feeding interfere with their natural waking and sleep patterns, has anyone any advice if this worked for them, DD is only 6 weeks? She can suffer from trapped wind so I'm concerned this is not helping her tummy as you feed when they are sleeping and therefore don't wind them. Your advice is appreciated :)

You can still wind them with a dream feed :)

I wouldn't worry about disturbing her natural waking/sleep pattern - it's fine to sleep through the night isn't it :) She only needs to wake up if she needs something and so all you are doing is helping her not to need to wake up!

Better for you to do it at 10.30 rather than have them wake at 3am. Smile

Thanks so much :)

If it works, it works. We found that it meant DD woke at 3am rather than 5am!

It certainly worked for us. DD was sleeping til about 4.30am at 6wks and has slept through from 10wks

It didn't work at all for us (DS woke at about 1am for months, whether we did it or not). But it sounds like it's working well for you, and I wouldn't worry about interfering with natural patterns if she's sleeping a good chunk afterwards!

If she's not waking up suffering with wind (and if she was suffering, she would let you know, I'm sure), I wouldn't worry too much about that either.
