Is she ever going to feed any less often?

My 5 month old dd2 (who was 5 weeks early) is ebf and has never gone more than 2 hours between feeds in the day. Most of the time she also has three feeds at night too. Three weeks ago she went 6 nights sleeping thru from 7 till 5 which was bliss and gave me some much needed rest, but since then we are back to 3 or 4 night time feeds. I am exhausted and feel like giving up - at least if I ff she might go longer and I could also hand over to oh. We are going on holiday abroad in 3 weeks and I was trying to carry on till then figuring it would be easier but now I am not so sure. Any thoughts anyone - I feel at the end of my tether.

I'd look up the 4 month sleep regression and how to cope with that. It seems like that is the big issue - if she was feeding 2 hourly during the day but sleeping at night, would you be okay with it?

DD didn't go more then 2hours during the day untill 8months. Plus 2-3feeds at night. Weaning didn't help at all with the sleep so don't go there.

Formula woun't nesacerly make any differences either, just make it more hard work for you.

I agree with Japhrimel more likley a sleep regression thing. You could try night weaning if you feel your strugaling.

At 5 months I cut down to 2 nightfeeds at 11pm and 3am - if ds woke between those times dp resettled him. He didn't manage to go three hours between feeds in the day til he had solid food inbetween though.

If you're thinking about giving up, I'd introduce solids before formula.

For us no. Just we replaced milk feeds with solid feeds.

Increased night feeds most likely related to regressions.
