Why is my four month old DD suddenly refusing her bottle?

DD is four months old and is BF the vast majority of the time with an occasional bottle of formula at night from baby sitter or from hubby on days off. She has been having some very hungry nights recently so for the last week we have been experimenting with a dream feed of formula at about 11pm to see if that might help her (and us) sleep better at night. After 6 months I plan to BF in morning and last thing at night so was really pleased that she was happy to take a bottle. She seemed perfectly happy with this situation - in fact, my DH and I were just congratulating ourselves on this at the weekend! We've clearly jinxed things now though as yesterday she refused a bottle from DH at lunchtime and then from me at 10.30pm.

What should we try first; changing contents of bottle to expressed BM or experimenting with different teats? Or is this just a one day blip?!

Any suggestions or comments from anyone who has experienced something similar would be great. Thanks.

If my DD is anything to go by they just like to mix it up from time to time to keep you on your toes. We had similar except it was exp bm in the bottle and DD refused at around 3 months and 5 months. What worked for us was DP giving the bottle with me in a different room, the milk being slightly hotter than we had been doing previously and DP making sure the feed was very calm and loving, no stress etc.

It didn't stop her refusing from time to time though. Good luck!

Teething? Caused us some trouble with bottle refusal.

Thanks! Will try hubby feeding, warmer milk and keeping calm. Hubby has just returned from ASDA with a number 3 teat as we only had 1s and 2s before - wonder if this might help?! Thanks pascchaelina and rottenrow! Keep your fingers crossed for me tonight!
