argh. And also how fascinating.

2 weeks in, 1 trip to SCBU, 1 nasty bout of mastitis, pumping, feeding constantly (if in doubt shove a boob in her mouth Wink ), having the hassle of supplementing, worrying about reducing the supplement, blumming discover that yesterday she refused my right (inverted) nipple. Well last night I figured out why. I have a lump right behind the nipple. Urgh, yup, there's another bloody blockage.

After much squeezing and attempts to hoodwink her into eating from it I decided a hot bath was in order, stuck my poorly boob under the water, gave it a bit squeeze and out comes strings! God does my boob feel better.

But still, boobs are fascinating eh? (and also a little gross)

strings?? of congested milk?? wow!

mawbroon · 07/04/2011 21:07

hooray! Hope it's cleared the blockage and your problems ease up. Sounds like you've had a tough time of it.

PorkChopSter · 07/04/2011 21:09

that is both amazing and revolting. What else have you got in there? Grin

Hope this signals the turning of a corner for you x

So is that a bit like cheese strings then? ...yum

btw, won't do your dd any harm if she swallows strings.

don't know if it counts as solids though WinkGrin

"Cheese strings on tap, cos mums are that magical" Now that's an advert for breastfeeding!

Though this is my second time so was expecting the first few weeks to be hell. Her face is a picture, she gets a taste of it and pulls the "eurrgh" face.

These are not just cheese strings.....

These are tailor made by my mother cheese strings.

Milk can apparently taste salty when you have mastitis so that could be what the ew face is all about.
