No experience of a sudden turnaround like that, but is he eating other food ok? If so, then it's prob not the cold...
Have you eaten any strange food - some things go straight thru to the milk (sorry, mind gone blank as to what) and he might not like it.
Sympathise tho with the discomfort you must be feeling if he hasn't fed by now

Rickman, this is the classic age for babies to have a nursing strike. Persevere if you are not ready to stop yet. Try this page, which also has lots of links:

kelly mom

All the books I have read say a baby can't truly self wean at this age - there is some other problem causing them to refuse breastfeeding. I was advised that I could be doing too much when it happened to me - not spending enough time just being his mum. When I slowed down things got back to normal (not always possible I know). Ds also had a cold when it happened. HTH.

Rickma, how long did you feed the other three for?
He really might have decided he's had enough.

My ds did this at 11 months, mainly I think because he was eating so much.

I'd keep trying though.

I am SO not an expert, but I thought if they had colds which meant they were finding it difficult to breathe through their noses, they might refuse to feed? Wouldn't affect his ability to eat, because he can still breathe through his mouth and eat at the same time, but you can't do that if you are bf....

just a thought. Maybe give him some decongestant and see if that helps?
